Straightening perm or japanese straightening system?

I don't know which one I would like to do for my hair. I have asian hair. My hair is thick, wavy, medium length, and when it dries it gets poofy.

What are the pro's and con's of a straightening perm and japanese straightening system?

I think we have the same type of hair. I'm asian, and my hair is wavy and crazy when it dries. I just use a regular straightening iron. I used babyliss, it works well for me. But it's still up to you.

Straightening perm is a quicker process but it cost more damage to your hair. Japanese straightening system usually takes about 2 hours and will do less damage to your hair and last longer. I had mine done twice and each of them last about 2 years. And of course, it depends on what you do to your hair (i.e. styling products) If you were to get it done, remember not to wash your hair and put on any styling products for at least 3 days (i know..it sounds yucky!), don't put your hair behind your ear for at least 2 weeks, and not to tie it up for as long as you could!

I'd say the Japanese straightening system. I did it on my hair, so I know the whole deal with it. My hair was SUPER thick, frizzy, and really curly. Let me tell you, it was like a miracle on my hair. It didn't end up perfectly straight, because it was so curly to begin with, but it was still really pretty and glossy. You can't do it if you've ever died your hair, or it'll all fall out, and that'll be really bad. And it only lasts for maybe 6-9 months? You can't wash your hair or get it wet for about 3 days, and it takes about 6 hours, so that's sort of a bummer. But it was totally worth it for me. So I say, go to a reliable hair stylist, discuss the options with her, and if you can do it, go for it! Good luck.
