Side fringe?

I have medium length, blonde and moderately wavy hair and my face is fairly round. I currently have a fringe that is cut straight and sits just below my eyebrows and I think it looks cool. Now I'm wanting to change my look as I've had this style for a while. Would a side fringe look good on me? And would it take much styling? I really don't want to have to style it everyday like I currently do (the natural waves don't sit right in a straight fringe). My hair is only slightly wavy and I'm not sure if it would look ok in a side fringe or not or take too much everyday maintenence. What do you think?

Side fringe?

i say go with a side fringe for 3 reasons

1. looks good on every one

2. can straiting it easier than a fringe that goes strait across

3. can pin it back to show your face either straight back or in a puff (looks cool if it is to the side a little not only straight back)

It can't hurt to try it, right? It will probably be just as much maintenance but just let them grow out a little bit and try it. If you don't like them you can cut them again or let your bangs grow all the way out.

If you like the 'emo' style, personally i'd try shorter layers creating a messy effect.. You could try some slashes of colour, or an undercolour.

My hair was about 15" long and I cut it short (real short), but my stylist said: there is a short cut for every single face's shape!.Everybody says that is the best thing I have done, I look younger and my face look brighter, so Do not panic! give it a try ..it will grow back!

Sure. Make an appointment at your hairdressers, and ask them for some help. They are professionals and know what they are doing. You might have to get a fair amount of your hair cut off to get it even again, but once its even it will be ok,or if you don't want to cut you hair off get some exstentions to cover it up until its all even, it might take some time, but your hair will grow back. : )

I've used many shampoos and conditioners over the years and it seems like after a couple months go by (sometimes longer, sometimes shorter) they stop working. What I want in a shampoo is one that smells great (and the smell lasts), does what it says it's going to do or close to that, and is affordable. I have medium length dry/damaged color treated hair. After quite a while of browsing and comparing (I was stuck between Tresemme, Sunsilk, Aussie, Loreal Vive, SAMY, and Dove.. I've used Dove before and the reason I love it is cause the smell, and the smell lasts but I really wanted something new) I ended up choosing Tresemme and on the bottle it says "colour" and that it has Vitamin E in it, for color treated hair, etc. I also bought a Tresemme volumizing mousse.

If you have used Tresemme, please tell me what you think of it? Are you still using it? How long did you use it for before it seemed to lose its effect? Comments and criticism on the brand please? Thanks!

I still firmly believe the good stuff is best, go to your local salon for advice - they have tons of good products.

Also, if you have minerals in your water or very hard water (city or well water), try the Malibu 2000 products (Trade Secret) such as the Well Water Action shampoo %26amp; conditioner. There are also treatments for buildup removal.

I really like Tigi Catwalk Honey %26amp; Oatmeal shampoo %26amp; conditioner, but really it depends upon your hair issues.

Tresemme is yucky, it smells good, but makes my hair feel like straw. Honestly the best conditioner in the world is Head %26amp; Shoulders. It's sometimes hard to find just the conditoner, but it's worth the search!!!! I work at CVS and it's the only thing I recomend to my customers.

All products will eventually lose its effect becuase your hair simply gets used to it. To avoid this I usually have 2 different sets of shampoos %26amp; conditioners and alternate every week or 2 between both. I have tried Tresemme before but its a pretty cheap product (quality-wise that is). From all the shampoos I've ever tried the one that smells the best is made by Victoria Secret -- they have an array of smells to choose from for all types of hair. I believe they are about $8 a bottle (remember you can't go too cheap, you get what you pay for:)

Actually, you should change your shampoo regularly anyway. I always have at least three different kinds of shampoo and conditioner in my shower. I have used Tresemme before and loved the smell but it didn't really work for me for that long...I didn't re-purchase it after that. I love Charles Worthington, Samy, Pantene and Aussie but, my absolute favorite is Gilchrist %26amp; Soames Spa Therapy shampoo and conditioner-the smell is absolutely awsome and it lasts! (Gilchrist can be found at Gilchrist%26amp;Soames.com) I have also found that if you don't dry your hair completely, your shampoo smell lasts longer! (Let it air dry whenever you can.) I have used Tresemme for a couple of years now and still love it. It smells great and I love that the conditioner is light and doesn't weigh my hair down. I use the kind for damaged hair and it seems to still work after all this time! If you have wavy or curly hair that you want to keep intact after getting out of the shower, I suggest trying Tresemme Restore Conditioning Leave-In Creme. It's really light, smells great, doesn't make your hair frizzy, and I can put it in damp/wet hair and it still looks good at the end of the day! Hope this helped!

Last year I had my hair usually straight, so this year I want to try curly hair instead.

Not barrel curls, like the old days, but curls that look naturally curly and almost wavy. The length of my hair is passed my shoulder, so I thought long curls were a good idea.

ok, first off, i am a guy. when picking my avatar, i just decided a chick would look better..... lol

second off, i have a rather large forehead/receding hairline/etc. its not really receding tho... i was born with it like this, but that is what it resembles. regardless, i have a large forehead.

i also have rather thing/fine/etc hair. its not necesarilly thining or anything, but its really fine and flat. also, my wierd hairline makes my bangs a little thinner, cause, they arent there like most people are, lol. its not too god awful tho. my hairline isnt half way back on my head or anything, but its rather high up in comparison to other people.

i also have a rather defined jaw. its not big, but it is a little bit pointy, with a normal, medium build.

now, i have layered hair with the front/shortest parts coming down to my chin (its parted in the middle, so it ussually lays around my jaw bone) and the back of my hair is just an inch or two from shoulder length.

Foils will allow for more chunky highlights and when it's pulled thru the cap it looks more "sun kissed" and scattered. No difference in the product just the application and outcome. The last cap highlight I had done hurt like crazy so I went foil last time and love it!

nothing really, if ur hair is short then they use a cap, but if hair is shoulder length then they use foil, you always get the same result of colour!!

i find the cap is easier for short hair. not so easy on medium hair and defidently not for short hair. Personally I think the foil is the way to go. This way you can choose either thin highlights, or real chunky ones...this you can't do so much with a cap. Also, with foils you know exactly where the highlights will fallwhere as with a cap it is more of a andom highlighting.

I'm a guy with short to medium length hair. How come when I get my hair cut at the salon the girl blow dry's it to a perfect soft, fluffy, bouncy look. When I try to blow dry it at home it gets nappy and stiff? The girl puts some type of product in my hair before blowing it dry. I'm also using some type of product but maybe I'm using too much. Is that it? I'll ask her for tips next time but for now what's your opinion?

1) Put a small amount of product in palm of hand. Rub hands together to emulsify and distribute it. Rub hands through hair starting at back of head and moving forward.

2) Blow dry hair using fingers to style. Stop when hair is almost completely dry (95-98% dry) %26amp; set hair w/ cool setting of blow dryer (a.k.a. blue button, cool shot, etc).

the dress doesnt sound out of style at all. all you need is some hot accessories! i love silver earings, because they are classic and chic! black shoes are always cute! i totally think you should straighten your hair and just wear it flat. because there is so much going on with your dress it might be too much if your hair is dressed up to!

I think your dress sounds cute and kind of maybe 40's in style, so accessories should be died to match, like satin pumps, 40 ish if possible, with the white lace insert, I think the shrug should be fine, if it matches the lace. Your hair would probably look beautiful straight, but maybe big curl at the ends? Lapis is a beautiful dark blue stone that would complement as jewelry.

If you are adventurous, look up some movie stars from the 40's and 50's, I bet you could pull the look off in a modern way.

As every cut looks different on each person, it is hard to say. Dont cut it unless you know it is going to suit you. Go to a wig shop and try on wigs...see how different cuts look on you. Have someone take a picture...then you will be positive you will look good before you actually cut.

It's really hard to give advice without knowing what you look like, so what I would suggest is that if you are sick of long hair - then cut it - definately. As far as how short and whether the highlights should be brown or red, a lot of that is personal taste. Why not ask your hairdresser? If you don't have one, ask someone who has nice hair and you like their cut. Tell them you like their hair and ask for the name of their hairdresser. They will be flattered, and you will find a good hairdresser. Also, when you go to the salon, ask for a consultation. Even if you have to pay a few bucks, it is better than going in and getting your hair done and not be happy. Good luck and remember, your hair always looks better when you are smiling!!

i love black hair, it's really pretty. i say just leave it black unless you get a little red tint in it, that would look good. you should cut it with lots of layers around your shoulders and get some bangs with a really good straightener. curling it is reeally nice too! try both looks and see which you like best. good luck girl:)

i am in the same position. i talked it through with my hair dresser. the best option was to have clip in extensions. you can clip them in just under the layers of your hair. its quick and easy. That way you don't have to keep paying to have them redone and your hair will not get damaged. They last roughly a year if you look after them and i had 2 strips which makes my hair long and thick looking and everyone thought it was real. this only costy 鎷?0. hope thats some help

This is getting really annoying... I like my just long enough so it barely goes in my eyes, so it is like medium length. I usually just take a shower, put some pomade in it, then I am off. Thing is, one side is starting to flip out and one side just stays flat... It is bugging me! Anyone have any ideas on how to make it go one way or another? Please don't say gel or get a haircut! well, my little bro has the same problem. He wants it to flip out on both sides, so he had it longer in the back for a while and it flipped out pretty well. But he doesn't like it in the back, so he cut it. I recommended using a small curling iron, but he said "no way", so i don't know if it works. I think it's worth a try. If you want it straight, i would sleep on it on the side that flips out. let me know if it works out! (you can also use a hair straightener for straight hair. if you use a curler or a straightener, a little bit of hair spray might help. it all depends on how fine your hair is.)

You have to train your hair. I know that sounds funny but you do. Now if you want your hair to lay down then you have to brush it

and at night tie it down with a hair net. Now to get it to stand up try mousse. And good luck getting it to lay down, because it sounds like u have a cowlick.

You could get a hair iron for about $15, which are really great because they heat up quickly and all you would need is to do is iron that one little spot (always use a ceramic straightener, and the smaller, the better), OR you could try to blow-dry it flat, but it takes a bit of skill. Definitely keep the pomade going though...

I suppose you could also get a small curling iron %26amp; flip the other side if you preferred that look.

Honestly, the best thing to do is to find a really good stylist and invest the money (at least for the initial haircut) for him or her to find the best style for your hair. Your hair sounds a lot like my cousin's and I've been saying she should do that for years. She's tried everything but it's still thick, wavy, and frizzy. It most definitely needs to be thinned out, but I know an experienced stylist would find the perfect cut for her. You'd be surprised what a difference a good cut makes. I used to be a hair cuttery kinda gal, but I went to a reputable salon once and never went back to the cheap stuff! Good luck!

Give me a number, I can take it, from one to ten. Well maybe I can't take a one or two...

Hi. I'm a sixteen year old girl who often gets mistaken for a 12 or 13 year old boy. It has nothing to do with my body(although I am petite). Eyeliner alone can just make you look like a raccoon, especially if you don't do it right. With your coloring, I would suggest you try some eyeshadow and mascara to emphasize your eyes. Try shades of violet, bluish-gray, or silver for the eye shadow (that will complement your blue eyes) and use black mascara (it will look better than brown!), but not too heavily. Also, just a touch of blush (a rose shade, not too pink, not too brown) on the "apples" of your cheeks, from the center of the cheek outwards. That ought to be enough to emphasize your femininity without making you look overly made up. Unless your eyebrows are bushy or overly thin, don't do too much with them. If they are very pale, you can darken them a little with a brown eyebrow pencil, but don't overdo it. If they need shaping, pluck the really stray hairs but definitely do not over pluck. You may want to find a friend who does her makeup well and get her to help you with technique. Or take advantage of the people who do "makeovers" at department store makeup counters, but emphasize that you are looking for a natural daytime look. However if you look like a 12 year old boy makeup may make you look like a 12 year old 'gay' boy. I'm not trying to be mean, but the OVERALL look is what you need to focus on. STOP straightening your hair for one, give it some style and wave, maybe even some highlights. Your hair is your Crowning Glory, if it looks like a boys haircut then you will look like a boy. Thinner eyebrows are a MUST, mascara is a good idea to lengthen the look of them. Don't overdo the makeup, you don't want to look cheap. If you decide to wear foundation make sure you blend it into your neck and not stop at your chin making you look like you have a mask on. You don't have to wear foundation to put just a dab of powder blush on your cheeks, it can be added with or without foundation.

Sedu. I have it and I love it. It keeps my hair stick straight even when it's misty outside (raining) and when it's super humid. I even sleep on it and it's still straight in the morning. It glides over my hair and instead of taking an hour (such as with previous straighteners I've owned) it only takes me 20 minutes to do my hair. It makes your hair really soft and shiny too. :)

My best friend has the Chi. It works well but no where near as well as the Sedu. I used it and it made my hair really dry feeling and it got curly again after like 3 hours. They also break really easy. I even read that they have caught on fire! Yikes.

I'd def choose the Sedu if I was you. It's even the highest rated one at Folica.com and going for around $115 now Jennifer Aniston uses it and so do a lot of other celebrities. :)

But the thing is it is very common for Ghd's to burn out after a year, so it depends if your willing to buy new ones again. Have you tried just curling all of it? A nice, short length with curls is a great style. If it's supposed to be curly, you won't have to worry about straightening it. And it is really sophisticated. You can pull the hair up into a pony tail and let the curls hang down in the back, or even put them in a bun for a more sleek, elegant look.

I've got similar hair, just blonde. a favorite trick of mine is to towel dry my hair, spray a spray gel all over and then scrunch as it air dries. let it hair dry until it is about half dry, then flip your head over as you dry it with a dryer with a diffuser. give it a lot of volume and curl.

when done, part it just off to one side and then pull back into a low, lose pony tail and hairspray for a finish.

if you want, afterwards you can twist it into a bun and then secure it with a very large butterfly clip (they've got a great one at wal-mart even) and you are set to go.

well dont do wet hair. if your hair is already straight then you need to keep it dry and down and it shouldnt be a lot of trouble at all. maybe you can crimp your hair, wave it or imprint designs. there are also many different ways to use accesories. you can use headbands, pantyhose(not literallly), and scrunchies and stuff. youd be surprised at how many different ways there are to have your hair.

I have really thick hair too. I've found it easiest to keep it long and layered, so its a bit thinner and easier to style.

The most versatile style is no doubt having your hair straightened. If you don't have a ghd or similar straightener I suggest you get one. Because the ghd has no edges and a round barrel, it can be used for straightening or curling (or waving). I've found a remington straightener which has adjustable heat, which I've found necessary for extra thick hair.

Put a leave in conditioner in your hair after you shower... reduces frizz. When its dry, straighten it (except for the 5cm of hair closest to your head... will keep hair looking cleaner for longer) and then style it. Put a shine serum/spray on the ends. Use hair spray conservatively... quick mist over all hair (hair should stay dry).

For waves, you can plait it once its been straightened and spray it heavily... leave it in for a few hours then take it out and use your fingers to spread out the waves. Or you can put HEAPS of mousse (because hair is so thick) on wet hair once out of the shower and crunch it up with your hands so it dries wavy. If you do this, do NOT brush.

Alternatively you can use the straightener but its a bit harder to explain (much easier to just demonstrate).

For curls, use a straightener rather than a curler because the straightener will create even curls all the way down the length of your hair. With thick hair especially, curlers just curl the hair closest to the heat... ie. the bottom of your hair will be very curly with the top virtually unchanged.

I have super-thick, wavy hair, too. This is what I do, and I get a lot of compliments about my hair:

After you get out of the shower in the morning, towel-dry your hair so it's damp but not WET. Scrunch it with a little bit of hair gel on all sides so it's curly, and then clean up the frizzies on the top with hairspray. (And then DON'T brush it when it's dry because then it'll poof out like you're in Ancient Egypt.)

Straighten your hair and immediately after you finish, use just a little bit of smoothing milk (that stuff is GREAT btw) and run it through your hair really fast so the straightening doesn't have a chance to curl up. It keeps the frizziness down and makes it nice and shiney.
