I need a hairstyle that's elegant and sophiscated. more.?

i'm short around five foot two, and i'm asian. i have thick coarse hair. the medium shoulder length of my hair usually curls all over the place even after i've straightened it with my CHI and put redken product all over it and it annoys me to death. tips? i also need to look my age, which is my early 20s.

Wear a easy style with little heat needed. The singer Rihanna has a hip modern look that is easy to style.

Have you tried just curling all of it? A nice, short length with curls is a great style. If it's supposed to be curly, you won't have to worry about straightening it. And it is really sophisticated. You can pull the hair up into a pony tail and let the curls hang down in the back, or even put them in a bun for a more sleek, elegant look.

Why not an angular bob, with the back stacked. You can go reserved Jenny McCarthy's or funky like Victoria Beckhams old cut. I have on like VB and also have thick wavy hair. So somedays I spend the time straightening it and other days I let it be wavy and funky. Maybe this will work for you?

I've got similar hair, just blonde. a favorite trick of mine is to towel dry my hair, spray a spray gel all over and then scrunch as it air dries. let it hair dry until it is about half dry, then flip your head over as you dry it with a dryer with a diffuser. give it a lot of volume and curl.

when done, part it just off to one side and then pull back into a low, lose pony tail and hairspray for a finish.

if you want, afterwards you can twist it into a bun and then secure it with a very large butterfly clip (they've got a great one at wal-mart even) and you are set to go.

embrace your curls and life will be simpler!
