I have similar hair, i have really long light, wavy hair that is extremely thick...what i usually do for dances is i curl almost all of my hair and then i pull about a quarter of the front off my face and put it into a ponytail w/ a poof...heres a similar pic..only i do mine w/ more hair pulled back n more curls..
