How long does an updo last?

my sweet sixteen is coming up this saturday and im getting my hair done at 11...the party is actually at 6 and goes to about 11 and i want to look my best the entire time. itll be a dance so i was also wondering what hair do would be the best..up or down when my hair is at medium length and falls to my shoulders...and more importantly how long will this updo last for me...please help..i want this one night to be perfect

If in fact it is "up" then it should stay well for you until you take it down. Each pin should feel very secure and well placed. If only part is up and part is curled that will not likely last as long. Curls will stay the shortest amount of time. If the curls are done with an iron and then pinned while cooling that will help them last longer. Make sure they use a thermal setting mist while styling. It may be slightly firm when first done but by the afternoon you will still be happy. Best of luck.

I would say that an updo would last for up to a week or a week and a half depending on how you keep it up if you make sure you tie it up and fix what needs to be fixed it should last. Oh and keep it moisturized because it will itch like crazy if you dont.
