i have an afro, in medium length. i love it, i would never get rid of it. but i would like to wear hats again, because i used to have it shaved. but is there any kind of under-hat, that compresses it, making me able to wear hats again?

You could try a wig cap... they're available at most wig stores or stores that sell hair for extensions.

You can exactly pat your hair so it will become smaller so you can wear hats.
Or you could buy the du-rag.
