I used to be blonde and went brunette at the salon. The hairdresser used a demi-permanent (oxidative colour). Since then I dyed my hair at home, about 3 or 4 times, using a demi-permanent (L'oreal casting).
I've had blonde foils put through my hair to return back to blonde (platinum actually, and yes my hair can take it, it is naturally quite fair) but I really dont want to wait. So far my hair has lightened to a medium brown with blonde highlights.
Does anyone know about the Rusk Elimin8 product, or another one called 'Eraser' or something? Both proudcts apparently lift any oxidative hair colour regardless of the length of time it has been in the hair, without damaging it (I assume this is correct as it is directly stated on the box) and making it ready for immediate re-colouring. My mum is studying to be a hairdresser and is fairly confident she'll be able to apply it but I want to know if it will give me the results I want.. (i.e. remove the brown hair colour to re-dye..)
Hair colour correction products?
Have your mum try a test strand. Try one on the dark color, and if she plans to apply it all over your head, she'll need to do a test strand on a blonde piece too. The only factor which might hinder you is how many times you've colored it. That is a lot of layers of color for the remover to get through. Test strand, that's the only way to know for sure.
