Navy and white polka dot dress?

I have a Navy satin dress with white polka dots and a medium size length of white lace across the middle.

1. Would this dress look okay at a formal or is it too out of style?

2. What kind/color of earrings can I wear??

3. What color/kind of shoes should I wear?

4. Would a small white lace-ish shrug look okay to wear all night on top of the dress?

5. what kind of a hairstyle should I do? I have shoulder-length curly hair which can easily be straightened....i'd like to leave my hair down, so I need hairstyles for hair-down....

thanks for the answers everyone

Navy and white polka dot dress?

1) That would look fine, satin is a beautiful material for dresses, and it's so soft and comfy.

2) You can wear either white, silver, or dark blue earrings. Icing by Claire's/Claire's has great earrings that don't cost a lot. I suggest crystal/cubic zirconia/fake diamond dangling earrings.

3) You should wear white heels, but if it's a short dress, you can wear white flats.

4) The shrug you describe would be absolutely fine, I suggest you get the shrug in white.

5) Straighten your hair, then either do a low, sleek, side ponytail, or clip the front of your hair back like this:

Navy and white polka dot dress?

1. Yes, it's ok for formal wear.

2. Pearl earrings would look cute.

3. Navy blue flats

4. Maybe, it depends the cut of the dress. If it's a V-neck, I'd say a shrug is good!

5.Side part, wavy hair but not curly

1. Yea it sounds super cute.

2. Red, white, black, or silver.

3. Red, white, or black.

4. Yea it would be cute!

5. You should make it curly, not just waves, and maybe a headband or a pretty flower or bow.

it's gonna be awesome, good luck!

Depends on the length of the dress -- for a formal attire it should be long. If it is long then that is ok. Anything shorter would be considered semi formal and not appropriate.

If you have Navy satin shoes that would look best.

Earrings are a tough one -- what style is the dress is it strapless because then you can wear a necklace of gold with blue stones and match your earrings to that.

A white lace shrug would look cute with it, but you don't have to wear it all night long.

Definitely soft curls would look the most feminine. Long straight hair is not appropriate at a formal, soft big curls look the best and you might try part up and part down for a really nice look.

Good luck
